Designing A Great Story
Design is about matching the pictures with the words. Pictures are not just visualizations of objects; they also represent ideas. A picture could be a logo, a vivid photograph, a pie chart or a scientific table – anything that creates a “snapshot” of what you want to communicate.
Over my career I have worked as a graphic designer and image editor helping people define creative and production goals for print and online uses. As someone who works with images, I have developed sensitivities to colour, light and shape, as well as honed technical skills in software and printing technologies.
- determine the best images to go with the words
- design graphics, logos, flowcharts, diagrams and tables
- take custom photos, source images, scan and correct supplied photos
- layout text and images in InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint or MS Word
- prepare files for pre-press and digital formats
Not only can I meet a variety of creative challenges, but I also have experience with the constraints of production (i.e. cost of reproduction, file format challenges, and print production techniques) and print project management.
